A day’s training programme to enhance the knowledge of hotel operators to maintain high cleaning and hygiene standards was held in Kumasi on Friday ahead of the Ghana 2008 soccer fiesta.
Under the auspices of Cleaning Solutions Limited, dealers in detergent and chemicals for cleaning, with support from the Ghana Tourist Board (GTB), the workshop is also to sensitize hoteliers and the Hospitality Industry in general to make personal care and hygiene one of their utmost concerns to meet institutional standards in the event of influx of visitors during the upcoming tournament.
Mr. James Adare, Managing Director of the company based in Tema, who addressed the participants said, since Kumasi is one of the venues for the event, it was essential for his outfit to expose the hospitality industry to best cleaning methods to enhance the country’s image.
He demonstrated some of the company’s product to the participants and encouraged them to use their products to enhance the cleanliness of their various hospitality institutions.
Mr. Ben Anane-Nsiah Regional Manager of Ghana Tourist Board appealed to the participants to do their job with due diligence during the tournament to impact positively on the image of Ghana to visitors.
