Mrs. Theresa Kufuor, the First Lady, on Friday presented relief items worth one billion cedis to victims of the flood disaster at Sandema.
The items included, water filters, mattresses, blankets, mats, mosquito nets, wax prints, used clothing, plastic cups, plates, buckets, bed sheets, soft drinks and biscuits.
Mrs. Kufuor told the people that she had visited them to sympathize with them for the loss and pain they went through during and after the disaster and asked the women to communicate their needs to her.
Mr Alhassan Samari, the Upper East Regional Minister, thanked the government and all the NGOs and people who supported the disaster victims and said the 15 billion Cedis that had been allocated for the repairs of bridges and roads would be put to good.
Mr. Thomas Alonsi, Bulisa District Chief Executive, said the people still needed a lot of support to go through the dry season until the next farming season.
