Fire swept through the offices of Meridian FM on Thursday morning, destroying equipment and other valuable items.
There were no casualties, but the station, the only female owned private radio station in the country located at Tema Manhean is currently off air.
Management of the station was tight-lipped over the issue, but an official, who only identified himself as Charles told the Ghana News Agency at the premises that the cause of the fire was not yet known.
He said investigations would be conducted internally to ascertain the cause of the fire outbreak, assuring its listeners that management would do everything possible to re-start transmission in a few days.
Staffs of Meridian FM were seen busily clearing the debris from the offices, while efforts were being made by electricians to replace burnt electrical cables.
