Government has started the recruitment of private and public trained nurses who graduated from health training institutions in between 2012 and 2016.
Qualified trainees from accredited institutions are to apply online via https://hr.moh.gov.gh to select the preferred agency under the Health Ministry they wish to be posted to.
In a statement issued on Monday and signed by Deputy Health Minister, Tina Mensah, she stated that the deadline for the application is July 12.
However, the Deputy Minister did not specify the number of nurses the Ministry is employing.
In a recent visit to Barbados, President Akufo-Addo, in principle, agreed to a request by the Prime Minister to send some 375 Ghanaian nurses to work in a number of their government medical facilities.

Mia Amor Mottley said, “we have indicated that we are searching for just under 400 nurses, so it is not a small number, and we really do believe that this is a wonderful opportunity of co-operation between our two countries.”
Barbados is currently facing an acute nursing shortage.
On his part, the President indicated that “we have a surplus of nurses and placing them all in our public health system is one of my headaches. There have been a lot (of nurses) produced, which, for several years, we have not been able to do anything with.”
He did not, however, state how many nurses will be sent to the Carribean country or how they will be selected.
