The first round of the Women’s Premier League ended on a low note this weekend as most teams struggled to find their scoring boots.
Of the seven games played only 10 goals were scored, making it the least number since the league got underway in January. Police Ladies clash with Samira Ladies was postponed due to the former having six players on national team duties.
Hasaacas Ladies were the biggest winners as they claimed a 3-1 win over Halifax Ladies at the Tema Stadium. Hasaacas’ Malot Pokua registered her 10th goal to go joint top of the top scorers chart along with Ampem Darkoa’s Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah.
Immigration Ladies ended round 1 on a high as they picked their first three points on the road following a 1-0 victory over Sea Lions.
Soccer Intellectuals secured a 2-0 win against Ladystrikers FC. Kumasi sports academy held Ampem Darkoa to a 1-1 draw while Prisons Ladies played out a goalless draw with Northern Ladies and Fabulous Ladies won 1-0 against Supreme Ladies.

The top scorers for both Northern and Southern Zones (Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah and Malot Pokua ) have scored 10 goals each.
Jafara Rahama has won the most Player of the Match awards, claiming three.
Lady Strikers have conceded 20 goals – the most by any team in the Southern Zone while Hasaacas Ladies have conceded 24 goals – the most by any team in the Northern Zone.
In the Northern zone, Ampem Darkoa have scored the most goals (22) whereas Supreme Ladies have scored the most in the Southern Zone (23 goals.
The biggest home win thus far has been Northern Ladies beating Supreme Ladies 6-0.
The biggest away win has been Ampem Darkoa thrashing Supreme Ladies by 7 goals to 1.
