The Chief Justice, Mrs Justice Georgina Theodora Wood, has said she intended to establish a new commercial court soon that would tackle oil and gas disputes in Takoradi in the Western Region.
She said she was going get some judges to study courses in oil and gas related cases in order to man the courts.
"Ghana needs to be ready for the investment-related disputes after it has found oil and gas," she said.
The Chief Justice said this when she received Mr Gordon Wetherell, the outgoing British High Commissioner, at her office in Accra.
Mr Wetherell was bidding her farewell after working in Ghana for almost four years.
Mrs Justice Wood recalled her visit to the United Kingdom where she got acquainted with the country's law courts.
The Chief Justice said she obtained a soft copy of the British Standard and Design Guide, which Ghana was going to study, adding that, she has therefore set up a development committee to review all court projects.
Mr Wetherell pledged his country's continued support to Ghana's developmental projects.
