No one really wants to look too old. Women are particularly obsessed with getting wrinkles. Here are tips to reduce wrinkles.
1.Eat oily fish
Oily fish, such as tuna, salmon and mackerel, can keep you healthy and your skin looking younger. They contain long-chain omega 3 fatty acids, which are good for long-term health.
Experts say that omega 3 fatty acids nourish skin and keep it plump and youthful.
2.Sleep on your back
You can get sleep lines when lying in certain positions at night. Sleeping on your side can lead to wrinkles on your cheeks and chin – while sleeping on your front can give you a furrowed brow. These sleep lines can soon become permanent. It's better for your skin to sleep on your back.
3.Try and avoid the scorching sun as much as possible
This is quite difficult since we are in the tropics. UVA rays don't burn, but penetrate deep into the skin. They are responsible for cell damage that contributes to ageing and skin cancer.
4.Don’t smoke
Smoking can damage collagen, which also strengthens the capillaries that feed the skin. This keeps the skin firmer.
5.Stop squinting
Wear sunglasses in the sun – this will protect fragile skin under eyes and will also prevent you from squinting in the sun. Also if you need reading glasses, make sure you wear them – so you are not squinting at your book/computer.
6.Use moisturizer
Moisturizer is a key to keeping your skin healthy and looked after. So keep your skin well hydrated as dry skin can lead to fine lines developing. Keep your skin hydrated by slapping on plenty of moisturizer.
7.Exercise
Exercise can help you to reduce wrinkles. As we age, collagen levels (which plumps our skin and keeps it youthful) begins to decrease causing fine lines, sagging and wrinkles. Exercise supports the production of collagen, as well as increasing oxygen and nutrients to the skin. When we exercise we also strengthen the muscle tone of the skin – keeping wrinkles at bay.
