The Ho branch of the Church of Christ has presented relief items valued at GH¢5,400 to flood victims in the Saboba/Chereponi District.
The items included 20 bags of rice, 10 bundles of roofing sheets and used clothing.
Evangelist Samuel Dzamesi, who presented the items, said the Church was touched by the plight of the flood victims and this had motivated them to come to the aid of the people.
He said the donation was made possible by the quick response the church received from its sister bodies both within and outside Ghana.
He expressed the appreciation of the church to the State College Church of Christ in California and Castle Rock Church of Christ, Colorado, both in the United States, for making the donation possible.
Mr Namoro Azumah Sanda, District Chief Executive of Saboba/Chereponi, who received the items on behalf of the flood victims, commended the church for the gesture and gave the assurance that the items would be distributed fairly to the intended beneficiaries.
The DCE said about 20,000 people and 40 communities in the area were affected by the recent floods with many of them having no food to live on.
He appealed to other benevolent organisations and well-meaning Ghanaians to assist to resettle the flood victims.
