Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), a proud part of Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABInBev), the world’s largest brewer,engaged the media on their operations.
During the engagement, ABL shared with the media stakeholders pertinent information on the company’s operations, and its Eagle Lager brand.
The media visit started with a presentation of our business operations by ABL’s Country Director, Mr. Shaun Raposoa tour of the company’s packaging lines, sampling of the Eagle Lager affordable beer and then ended with a networking session.
Mrs. Annabelle Degroot, the Business Unit President of ABInBev West Africa joined the event, as well as members of ABL’s Management Team.
During the media engagement, Mr.Raposo stated that ABL strives to be Recognised as a company that engages, motivates, and supports partners across the country.
Also, the company’s Dream is to be Trusted for its diverse portfolio of high quality brands to suit every palate. He stated that the Eagle Lager brand, which is an affordable beer, has a unique taste due to its ingredients of maize and cassava, which clearly depicts our Dream.
The Eagle Lager Brand
Eagle Lager was launched in 2013 in the Volta Region as ABL’s first affordable beer and available in 375ml and 625ml bottles. Mr. Raposo highlighted the volume journey of Eagle Lager, and noted that it has recorded a consistent high growth over the years.
Eagle Lager’s Impact on a Growing World
Mr. Raposo stated that “the Eagle Lager brand, through the Eagle Farmer Project, has played a key role in fulfilling the company’s commitment to invest in a Growing World where everyone has the opportunity to improve their livelihood.”
The Eagle Farmer Project, which was initiated in 2015, has so far deployed solar-powered irrigation systems to six communities across the country. These communities are Yirene and Paga Kajelo in the Upper East Region; Gbi Avega in the Volta Region; Huniso in the Western Region; and Tindongo and Gambibgo in the Upper East Region.
Mr. Shaun Raposo mentioned that this brand has promoted food security in these communities, improved the livelihood and income of approximately12,000 small-holder farmers, through the company’s high demand for maize and cassava.
The Media’s Role in ABL’s Success Story
ABL’s Legal & Corporate Affairs Director, Ms. Adwoa Aaba Arthur, expressed her appreciation to the media for its role in supporting ABL’s Dream of bringing people together for a better world.
She assured the media of ABL’s continued support, and promised to work together to build the brand to create lasting partnerships.
