The fun-loving residents of Samreboi, a town in the Wassa Amenfi West district of the Western Region had more than they bargained for when they hosted the country’s best reggae-dancehall export of the moment, Stonebwoy.
The May Day celebrations organised by Samartex Company Limited had Stonebwoy as its main act and the CEO of the Burniton Music Group outdid himself to the admiration and awe of all who thronged to see him perform.
The 2015 BET Award winner astounded fans with his dance moves and had the audience singing along to his songs like it was the national anthem.
The highlight of the rave, however, was the ‘Michael Jackson’ effect Stonebwoy had on his fans that night. Even 10 hours away from the capital, Accra, Stonebwoy has an indescribable hold on the people of Samreboi, unlike any other artist and they didn’t hesitate to demonstrate their obsession with him to the world.
During Stonebwoy’s performance that night, many fans passed out and his personal security had to assist to get them to safety.
It was a mammoth crowd but these fans just didn’t faint from fatigue or from overcrowding; it was obvious they got delirious with just his presence and when he kept churning out hit after hit, the excitement escalated to a fever pitch and their bodies succumbed to the pressure.
Clearly, Nickelodeon’s Favorite African Star 2019 means a lot especially to the people of Samreboi and seeing him perform live drove them crazy to the point of exhaustion.
Not only is Stonebwoy an exceptionally talented individual, but his quirks also charmed people and his personality exudes an aura that makes him simply admirable. He is the reggae dancehall prophet of our time.
If you couldn’t make it to Samreboi this May Day, catch a glimpse of the heavenly impartation that transpired in the video below.
