A 22-year-old trader who allegedly raped an 18-year-old senior high school student at Hohoe-Gboxome in the Volta Region was on Friday granted bail in the sum of GH¢15,000 by a Circuit Court at Hohoe.
Godsway Awulley, whose plea was not taken, was ordered to provide two sureties one of whom is to be justified and he will reappear on December 13.
The court ordered the suspect to report to the police once every two weeks.
Chief Inspector Samuel Gbedemah told the court that Awulley lured the victim into his room on September 4 under the pretext of giving her provisions and raped her.
He said the victim reported the incident to her mother who informed the police.
