The Greater Accra branch of the Civil Servants Association (CSA) on Tuesday affirmed their support for the suspension of Mr. Smart Chigabatia, Executive Secretary and two others by the Association.
The two are Mr Kojo Krakani, Deputy Executive Director and Ms Helen Afi Gadzepo, Director of Administration and Staff Development.
The suspension of the three executives came about due to their insubordination to Mr. Robertson Akwei Allotey, National President and it took effect from the 25th of this month.
Addressing members of the Association at a meeting in Accra on Tuesday, Mr George Mensah, Chairman of the Greater Accra branch of the CSA said indiscipline has always been the bane of the civil service and should never be tolerated in the hierarchy of the Association.
He urged the leadership of the Association to take advantage of the suspension of the three executives to reorganise the National Secretariat since it had been plagued by misconduct and incompetence by its staff.
Mr Mensah also appealed to the National Leadership to as a matter of urgency appoint new heads to the Secretariat for the commencement of salary negotiations for 2007, which the old executives neglected due to "lack of focus on their mission, self interest and petty squabbles."
A letter issued on November 22 and signed by the National President, Mr Robertson Akwei Allotey suspended the three executives.
It said the suspension of Mr. Chigabatia was due to his decision not to proceed on leave as directed by the National President to allow for the restructuring of the National Secretariat, and also attending official meeting outside the country when he should have gone on leave.
He allegedly travelled to Lome with the Vice President, Mr. Tenny Foli, the Deputy Executive Secretary, and the Director for Administration and Staff Development without approval from the National President.
