Ashanti Region’s favourite radio station, Nhyira 104.5 FM, pulled off yet another thrilling experience for over 30 churches in a sporting extravaganza on Saturday.
Religious groups converged to compete for honours in a friendly atmosphere amid fanfare at the Nhyira Church Olympics held at the Ridge Park, Danyame in Kumasi.
Prizes and bragging rights were up for grabs in football, table tennis, snooker, arm wrestling and athletics, among others, which drew thousands of Christians to the venue.
Saint Theresa's Catholic Church at Asawasi picked up the laurel for the passion of the nation, soccer.
Salvation Army, Wiamoase in Sekyere South District, shrugged off all opposition to emerge ultimate champions for the 3rd edition of the Nhyira Church Olympics.
