Open to students from age 18 and below, the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition is the oldest school’s essay competition and is aimed at developing the writing skill and creative potential of students in the Commonwealth region.
On the 2019 theme “A connected Commonwealth” students from the Commonwealth are expected to produce essays, poems and other creative materials out of which a panel of experts will select the best.
At the launch, OBA Samuel Awoyemi Adisa, the Akara Kiri II expressed optimism that students from Nigeria who are reputed for their great writing skills will emerge as overall winners in the competition.
The RCS Country Director and Regional Director wished the students the best of luck and spoke of their hope for the ultimate winners in the junior and senior categories to emerge from Africa.
