Nii Tetteh Otu II, Kpone Mantse, and Nii Adjei Kraku II, Tema Mantse have wished President John Agyekum Kufuor well for escaping death when his vehicle was involved in an accident on Wednesday in Accra.
They conveyed the message through Mr David Quaye Annang, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, at a meeting in his office at the Tema Metropolitan Assembly on Thursday.
Nii Otu appealed to the authorities to check indiscipline on the roads to avoid such accidents.
He said accidents do not happen but are caused by drivers' indiscipline and negligence and that most of the accidents that have occurred in the country this year were avoidable.
Nii Otu expressed gratitude to the president for elevating the Tema municipality to metropolitan and said this befitted the industrial city.
Mr Annang thanked the two chiefs on behalf of the president and reiterated the call for discipline on the streets.
He advised drivers to exercise patience on the streets and urged them to show respect to the leadership of the country by stopping and stepping aside to give way to a convoy anytime they hear the siren.
