Kofi Bediako, 42, a clerk with the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) in the Ashanti Region, was on Monday jailed seven years by a circuit court in Kumasi for defiling and impregnating his 15-year-old biological daughter.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges but was found guilty after the trial, which lasted about five years.
Bediako was also charged with failing to name the product of the incest, his son cum grandson.
The prosecution told the court presided over by Mr Ernest Yao Obimpeh that the convict whose wife left their marital home as a result of a misunderstanding was living with the daughter alone and started having sexual intercourse with her at Effiduase in the Sekyere East District of Ashanti.
According to the prosecution, the victim who got pregnant as a result gave birth to a baby boy on May 6 2003, but he refused to name him up to date.
His estranged wife and mother of the victim made a report to the police and Bediako was arrested.
