Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, on Saturday said the government of President Kufuor has made the Ghanaian economy better than what it inherited.
Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey, who was interacting with a section of the media at Takoradi during a campaign tour of the Western Region, held that the Kufuor-led government created a climate of real confidence in Ghana for Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians alike, and has established the level of confidence needed to generate genuine investor interest and commitment.
He said whoever emerges the presidential candidate at the NPP delegates' conference in December should build on these achievements, adding that the government also brought down inflation and stabilized the economy.
"The next step is to create jobs and more wealth," he held.
Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey said he would continue to campaign against corruption in all forms.
