The Hacklab Foundation signed a collaboration with IBM to extend IBM’s Digital - Nation Africa (D - NA) to Ghanaian youth.
Hacklab Foundation is a non-profit organization established since September 2015 in Ghana, focused on preparing the youth for future jobs, by helping them develop technical skills, connecting them to industry and breeding entrepreneurs who create jobs for others.
The Foundation is popularly known for its annual hackathon which brings together over 450 students from 15 tertiary institutions, industry professionals, recruiters and other relevant stakeholders to discuss and develop solutions to local problems in Ghana.
The event has been supported by Stanbic Bank, DreamOval Limited, Vodafone Ghana and Certified Ghana amongst many others.
The Hacklab Foundation’s initiatives have already impacted over 3000 youth in Ghana.
The IBM Digital - Nation Africa Program is an online learning and enablement platform designed to help bridge the digital skills gap, build 4th Industrial Revolution skills and capabilities locally to serve the African market. The platform is accessible only in Africa.
Through this collaboration, the Hacklab Foundation and IBM will work hand-in-hand with other local partners and learning institutions such as basic schools, senior high schools, TVET institutions and tertiary institutions to make the D-NA platform accessible to as many Ghanaian youth as possible.
The Hacklab Foundation will be responsible for monitoring and tracking the performance of Ghanaians who sign up to the platform and support them where needed through Webinars, boot camps, internships and hackathons.
