Nana Kwabena Oboh II, Western Regional Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has told the supporters of the party not to be swayed by the money being used as a bait by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said they should rather collect and use whatever money given to them by the NPP because it belongs to the state.
Nana Oboh, who is also the Chief Linguist of the Apinto divisional area said, the money being offered for loans to Ghanaians has been entrusted into the hands of NPP leaders in the constituencies and it's being used as a means to convert people into the NPP.
Nana Oboh was speaking at Awudua near Tarkwa after an election to choose the executives of the Awudua ward of the NDC.
Pastor Owusu Ankamah was elected Chairman with Mr Bismark Amponsah as Vice, Mr Kofi Abokyi, Secretary, Joe Manu, Organiser and Andrews Ansah, Youth Organiser.
The rest are Madam Emelia Tawia, Women's Organiser, Anna Baah, Treasurer and Mr Henry Kwofie, Propaganda Secretary.
Nana Oboh said the NPP had failed, it has refused to give credit to the development projects initiated by NDC.
In spite of this, he said the good works of the NDC was like an indelible ink, which is there for everyone to see and that the supporters should not sell their conscience for pittance, but stand firm behind the NDC to wrest power from the ruling NPP.
Nana Oboh reminded the supporters of the promise made by President John Agyekum Kufuor prior to the 2000 elections at Awudua that the 11-kilometer road linking Awudua and the Tarkwa-Bogoso main road would be reconstructed, but it has not materialised after seven years.
This, he said shows how the NPP government does not care about the rural poor, adding that, the return of the NDC would reverse the trend and everyone would get a fair share of the national cake.
Mr Michael Gbedemah, NDC chairman, Pretstea/Huni-Valley constituency, told the supporters to move to the communities and win more people to the party.
Mr Ekow Arhin, Prestea/Huni-Valley constituency organiser, welcomed the decision to make Bogoso the capital of newly created district, saying, "We the NDC people support it and hoped that the next thing would be the creation of another constituency to facilitate development in the area".
Mr Maanu thanked the supporters for electing the new executives to lead them in the Ward.
