Mariama Alhassan, a trader who inflicted sharp object wounds on the shoulder and left rib of a tenant has been remanded in Police custody by the Akim Swedru Circuit Court.
Alhassan pleaded not guilty to causing harm and would reappear on February 15.
Presenting the facts of the case at the court presided over by Mr Yaw Atta Sampong, Police Inspector Fabian Salla said Madam Patience Anaba, the victim, a hairdresser lives with the accused person’s mother in the same house at Atiakama Nkwanta.
The prosecutor said Alhassan often visits the son who lives with the grandmother and on one occasion Madam Anaba and other tenants approached the accused to help scrub the bath-house as her mother was old to undertake such duties.
Inspector Salla said the accused did not take kindly to the job assigned to her by the co-tenants and a misunderstanding ensued between them and in the course Alhassan inflicted sharp object wounds on Madam Anaba.
The victim was rushed to the Akim Oda Government Hospital and a report was made to the Police and Alhassan was arrested.
