Sixty seven people who were being held in connection with the Anlo chieftaincy dispute have been granted bail.
Seven others yet to be released are still in custody.
Counsel for all the suspects, MP for Ashaiman, Alfred Agbesi spent the greater part of Monday morning, November 5, 2007 at a Ho High Court seeking bail for the suspects.
Information reaching Joy News on Monday indicates that one of the suspects, Israel Amenume died in custody.
The suspects were arrested last Friday November 2, 2007 for their alleged involvement in the clashes with police in Anloga.
The incident led to the killing of four people including a police officer.
Speaking to Joy News, Mr. Agbesi said all the suspects are complaining of bodily pains and bruises because they were tortured by the police during their arrest.
He also said that the colleagues of the deceased told him that the deceased was beaten by the police.
He told Joy News that the police are planning on setting up a makeshift clinic at the police station to treat the suspects.
