The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH through the Joint Action on Jobs, Migration and Development, in partnership with the European Union (EU), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the Government of Ghana, after an intensive 3-month training session successfully graduated 500 beneficiaries from the Short-Term Skills training programme.

This initiative, which valued at GH₵400,000 euros equips trainees with essential skills and resources to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.
The event marked a significant milestone in empowering individuals through practical skills training in trades such as hairdressing, barbering, electrical works, and more.

In addition to receiving their certificates of completion, each graduate was provided with an equipment starter pack tailored to their specific skill set. These starter packs will enable the beneficiaries to establish their own businesses, fostering economic independence and contributing to local development.

"This program embodies our commitment to providing sustainable livelihoods and promoting entrepreneurship. By equipping trainees with the tools they need, we are fostering a culture of self-reliance and innovation," said Andreas Berding, Head of Programme.

The ceremony is part of a larger series of graduation events, with upcoming ceremonies scheduled to take place in Kumasi, Goaso, Sunyani and Techiman over the next two weeks.

These events aim to highlight the program's impact across various regions and reinforce its significance in creating a skilled and self-sufficient workforce.

"This training has helped upgrade my skills in sewing for ladies. I now have the confidence and tools to start my own business," said Emmanuel Aryee, a graduate specializing in Fashion.
