The best Under 23 local players have been penciled to begin preparations for the All Africa Games football competition in September in Maputo.
Thirty players have been named by Coach Kwasi Appiah to prepare for the Games with just two foreign based stars in Ben Acheampong who plays in Spain and former Hearts of Oak striker Samuel Affum who now plays in Egypt with Smouha FC.
This is a smart move by Kwasi Appiah who is aware he will not have majority of his choice of players available in September because they will be busy with their European clubs.
Established stars Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Samuel Inkoom, Dominic Adiyiah and others who qualified the team will not be available and Kwasi Appiah understands this.
