The management of Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah (Lil Win) has denied neglecting victims of the accident he was involved in over the weekend.
The accident which occurred on Saturday morning at Amakom, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region, claimed the life of a three-year-old who was hit alongside his father.
In a new press release, Wezzy Empire noted that they find the allegations that their camp had neglected the victims of the accident distasteful and disturbing.
Lil Win’s management revealed that they were unaware "about the extent of damage from the accident because our artist, manager and bouncer suffered life-threatening injuries.”
Wezzy Management further stated that Lil Win’s manager is still undergoing treatment in the hospital, while the actor himself has yet to fully recover from the incident. Additionally, the bouncer is awaiting a surgical review.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of a three-year-old boy who was involved in the gruesome accident and we extend our sincere condolences to the bereaved family,” they stated but insist the allegations are unwarranted.
As such, “we remain resolute that investigations by the Police would establish the facts of the matter in due course. We continue to crave for the support of all Ghanaians to pray for the affected persons' full recovery,” they added.
This comes after the three-year-old Nana Yaw, who lost his life in the car crash was laid to rest on Tuesday.
The actor, also known as Lil Win, is said to have been driving at high speed and crashed into the vehicle that had the three-year-old and his father, Jacob Kofi Ampomah.
Nana Yaw and his father were rushed to a nearby hospital and later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where the little boy passed away.
Mr Ampomah received treatment at the hospital’s emergency unit for a leg fracture sustained in the accident.
His vehicle, which was severely damaged in the crash, is now in police custody for investigation.
A relative of the deceased, in an interview with the Accra-based station, said the family is considering legal action.
However, a member of actor Kwadwo Nkansah’s (Lil Win) team, Zola opened up on the unfortunate accident on Monday.
According to Zola, the accident occurred when Lil Win attempted to evade a crowd that had surrounded his car at a traffic intersection.
He said that when the light turned green, Lil Win accelerated and swerved a tricycle, also known as ‘Aboboyaa’, resulting in a head-on collision with another vehicle.
