There have been renewed shootings in the Upper East Regional town of Bawku, resulting in at least three persons dead.
The incident is said to have taken place near the cattle market at Bawku. The disturbances are reported to have started when an assailant allegedly invaded a home there.
Eye witnesses say, the attack took place last night during a heavy downpour in the area. Residents woke up to the news this morning.
Security agencies have reportedly reviewed the curfew in the town from 8:00pm to 6:00am to 4:00pm to 7:00am although an official statement on the curfew is yet to be released.
JoyNews’ Upper East Regional Correspondent, Albert Sore reported that the curfew was reviewed as a source of an emergency measure.
No arrest has yet been made and the Police is yet to issue a statement on the matter.
