Media mogul and artiste manager, Nana Poku Ashis has voiced his opinion on the coveted Artiste of the Year bid for the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
He says that despite the fact that the category involves six popular musicians, he is certain it is a competition between three major people, which he terms ‘a three-horse race.’
On Joy Prime’s Prime Morning while reviewing who among the nominees has the upper hand in clinching the award, he opined that the actual contest is among the three nominees.
“To me, it’s a three-horse race. That’s how I see it. To me, it involves King Promise, Stonebwoy, and a dark horse being Nacee. The dark horse that can surprise everybody is Nacee.”
Mr. Ashis pointed out that Stonebwoy's fans fully support him in such situations, and that the BHIM Nation is likely to pull off a surprise at the event.
He also commended King Promise and his team for the exceptional effort they have put in to intensify their publicity and promotions.
“I have seen that of King Promise more than any of the others. Maybe they did, but we didn’t really see, but King has made sure that he’s visible for you to see the work he’s doing, and that is how you convince people to send their votes.”
Speaking about the likelihood of Nacee winning, the artiste manager emphasised that most churches have recognised the singer’s hard work towards their growth and will surely vote massively for him.
“While I know that my man Nacee will be on the sidelines doing the dirty work for the churches, they don’t play. Don’t play with Team Nacee. Do not play with them; it’s looking good for them.”
Considering the works of the three musicians, Mr. Ashis said that he will support the win of any of them because they deserve the prize.
Ghanaians from all over the planet are buzzing with excitement in anticipation of the award night on Saturday, June 1, when they finally discover which of their favourites wins ‘Artiste of the Year’ at the TGMAs.
