The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Ghanaians to hold the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government accountable for its economic mismanagement by voting it out.

Fifi Fiavi Kwetey stressed the importance of addressing corruption within the government, emphasising that officials found guilty of such practices must be prosecuted to deter future administrations, including the NDC.

Mr Kwetey highlighted the necessity for a collective effort among Ghanaians to build a consensus and rally behind the NDC to remove the NPP from power.

He believes that this unified approach is crucial for restoring economic stability and ensuring accountability in governance.

In an interview with Channel One TV on Wednesday, June 26, Mr Kwetey praised the patriotism of some NPP members who have come forward with valuable information exposing scandals involving high-ranking government officials.

He commended their bravery and commitment to transparency, noting that their actions have significantly contributed to holding the government accountable.

He expressed gratitude for the courage displayed by these whistleblowers, acknowledging their crucial role in bringing issues of corruption to light.

According to Mr Kwetey, such efforts are instrumental in promoting good governance and ensuring that those in power are held responsible for their actions.

The former Ketu South Member of Parliament reiterated his call for Ghanaians to vote for the NDC in the upcoming elections as a means of addressing the economic mismanagement and corruption under the current administration.

He urged citizens to support the NDC’s efforts to create a more accountable and transparent government for the benefit of the entire nation.

“I believe that regardless of our differences, the common love we have for our country should unite us at all moments…I remember during the recent June 4, in my speech, I actually saluted a lot of patriots who are in the NPP. Who in the midst of all these difficulties, continue to do a lot of patriotic duties.

“I can tell you, for example, a lot of the scandals, which my good brother MP for North Tongu [is working on]. A lot of information coming up is from patriots of NPP. Who are simply sick and tired of what’s going on. I can tell you, they do it in the interest of our country," he said.
