Ghana Premier League newcomers, Vision FC, secured an impressive 2-0 victory over Accra Lions on Monday, 16 September 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Nana Agyemang’s side demonstrated their Premier League credentials with a 44th-minute goal from Elijah Addai, putting the debutants ahead just before halftime.
Although Accra Lions dominated portions of the first half and created challenges for Vision's defence, the visitors held firm and went into the break with a one-goal advantage.
In the 85th minute, Emmanuel Kyei Baffour doubled Vision FC’s lead, leaving Accra Lions with no chance of a comeback.
The win lifts Vision FC into the top three of the league standings, just four points behind Hearts of Lions and leaders Medeama, who occupy second and first place, respectively.
Meanwhile, Accra Lions remain winless after two games, following their loss to Medeama last weekend in Tarkwa.
Last season's standout performers have yet to meet expectations and will continue their search for their first three points when they visit Karela United in Game Week 3.
