Keta SHTS has secured a slot in the 2023 Onga Cook Art Zonal competition after beating Mafi Adidome SHS and three other schools.
The schools drawn from the Volta Region sought to outdo each other to claim the bragging rights as the best culinary school in the region.
For Sogakopke SHS, the stakes were higher because they yearned to become the first school to host and win a regional contest this year.
After the first round of the competition, Keta SHTS, Mafi Adidome Senior High School, and Mepe Saint Kizito SHTS proved to be the top dogs and left an uphill task for Sogakopke Senior High School, while trying to overwhelm each other.
It was then time for the final lap of the contest, Chief Judge, Jocelyn Dogbe gave Contestants 2 hours to prepare innovative meals using leftover dishes.
At the end of the contest, Mafi Adidome SHS' Coconut Ayikple, Green kpakpo sauce and Banana upside down was no match for Keta SHTS's Akple Kaakloo and Zobolo smash.
A new regional champion emerged as Ketasco led with 80.5 percent.
Gorni Epiphania and Kpeglo Lucy's victory earns them a spot in the zonal round of the contest which is scheduled to take place in May 2023.
Mafi Adidome SHS came second with 79.5 percent. Mepe Saint Kizito SHTS came third with 78 percent.
St. Catherine Girls SHS followed with 70.5 percent while Sogakopke SHS scored 64 percent.
Each contestant walked home with souvenirs from Onga.
