For the second successive season the race for the title in the CAL bank beach soccer league will go down the wire with rivals Havedzi Mighty Warriors and Keta Sunset Sports battling it out for who emerges kings of beach soccer in Ghana.

Defending champions, Keta Sunset will have to defeat  city rivals Havedzi Mighty Warriors to annex the gong for the third successive season.

It’s been a tale of two halves with the Warriors dominating the first round of the campaign but Sunset Sport doing the exact same in the second round.

A run of nine successive wins have seen the champions not only go level on points with their rivals but also over take them via goal difference. Having dropped points unexpectedly at some stages in the second round, Havedzi still racked up an impressive seven wins from nine games in the second half of the season.

This run has ensured that Havedzi still dictates the pace at the top. The Warriors are responsible for one of the two defeats inflicted on Sunset Sports thus far this year and will hope to repeat that feat which will see them being the first club aside the Champions to win the crown.

Aside the tussle for the title, three teams will also slug it out against different oppositions in their quests to make the top four. East Legon Sharks have move from relegation candidates in previous campaigns to top four contenders this season.

Currently sitting third with 30 points, the Sharks will look to wrap up their impressive campaign with a win against 6th place Teshie United.

Debutants Gulf powers have also surprised all with their energetic displays and will be keen on sealing a place in the top four with one more energetic show against Dansoman.

The newboys had a tough start in the league but they have improved in leaps and bounds that has seen them climb to fourth on the log.

The ”landlords” Wuo Gbee are the last of three contenders for the top four slot, and may have left it late in their surge but three points could do the trick.

Currently lying 5th on the log with 28 points, the La based side have an outside chance of sneaking into the top four as they will not only have to get the results but also hope for other results to go their way.

Ada Assurance and Nima BSC have been by far the most disappointing teams of the season, and rightly so they occupy the bottom two positions on the log and will play their soccer next season in the second tier of Ghana Beach Soccer.

Their places will be taken by the Nungua United who will be making a return into the top flight after suffering demotion last term and Golden Eagles who have put up some electrifying performances this season.
