The rangers of the Mole National Park have arrested two men for allegedly poaching and killing a buffalo in the forest reserve in West Gonja of the Savannah Region.
The suspects; Mumin Baharu and Osman Ibrahim aka Vuga are said to have undertaken the act on Saturday, April 9.
According to Bole-based Nkilgi FM, the Rangers were on normal patrol when they heard a gunshot and rushed to the scene.
On their way, they saw a four-man team of poachers on a particular stream who had shot and killed a buffalo and were about to share the booty.
The rangers subsequently laid ambush and managed to arrest the poachers.
A shotgun, which was used to kill the buffalo, has been confiscated from the poachers.
The poachers will be processed for court within 24 hours after their arrest.
