A 13-month-old baby girl has allegedly been defiled.
A 15-year-old boy is being accused of the offence which took place at Dodowa, near Accra.
The mother of the baby who sells a locally brewed soft drink known as ‘asaana’, told Joy News that she left her daughter in the bedroom briefly to attend to a customer, but when she returned she found that her baby’s pampers have been removed and semen was all over her body.
According to the mother, a 15-year-old boy who is suspected of committing the crime ran out of the room before she could shout for help.
The baby’s mother says although she reported the incident to the Madina police, the officer on duty said there was no police officer available to accompany her to arrest the boy whom she described as an area boy.
