A nursing mother has been crushed to death in an accident at Gomoa Mpota while her two-year-old girl and a driver of a pick-up vehicle are in critical condition.
The accident, which occurred near Gomoa Mampong on the Kasoa Winneba Highway in the Central Region on Tuesday, involved an Ivory Coast Cargo truck with the registration number LND 106 X-Z and Kia pick-up GR 3934-Z.
The Police report indicated that the truck developed a fault but the driver failed to put a warning triangle behind the vehicle as required.

According to the Winneba Police, the pickup hit the back of the cargo car which led to the death of the nursing mother.
The driver of the pick-up and the little girl who are in critical condition are currently receiving treatment at Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.

This comes barely days after 10 people died in an accident over the weekend in the region.
Following the deaths from the accidents in the Central, Eastern and Upper East, calls have intensified for the construction of dual-carriageways for the country’s major roads.
