The Black Stars of Ghana could not survive a Libreville onslaught launched by their Gabonese counterparts losing by 2-0.

Four-time continental lords, faced their toughest test yet in the joint World Cup/CAN qualifiers campaign against the Azingo Nationals of Gabon in Libreville in Group Five.

Several attempts by the Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien and striker Junior Agogo could not land the ball in the net of their opponents.

In a match that was characterised by poor passes and a low spirit, one could be pardoned to say it was a veritable drama and a poor show on the Ghanaian side.

Caretaker coach Sellas Tetteh is likely to face more attacks after coming under a barrage of criticisms from the Ghanaian media and the football populace, as doubts raged on his technical and tactical abilities, despite a 3-2 win over Lesotho last week.

The Ghana Football Association has already declared him ‘unripe’ for a full-time appointment but as he loses to his Gabonese colleague, Alain Giresse, a member of the famous France midfield quartet; which included Michel Platini (now UEFA President), Jean Tigana and Luiz Hernandez, Tetteh’s future with the Stars looks bleak.
