The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has requested for the release of their striker, Eric Bekoe, from the Black Stars camp if he is not needed.

According to the club’s Communications Director, Kwame Baah-Nuako, his outfit has realised that the player had not been used in the team’s recent matches.

“The decision to use the player is the coach’s sole prerogative, so we are not clamouring for him to be used. We are only saying that if he is not needed we want him,” he explained.

Mr Baah-Nuakoh also revealed that Bekoe’s absence from the team had affected attendance at the team’s matches.

The Kotoko Communications Director added that Bekoe needs to feature for his club so that he can increase his tally on the goal king race of the Onetouch Premiership.

Bekoe played for about five minutes in the Black Stars friendly against Australia, as well as the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier against Libya.

Meanwhile, the club has reinstated Joe Carr as the goalkeepers’ trainer. Carr was suspended for making certain comments on radio.
